Passport and Visa Requirements

Foreign Nationals

If you are foreigner (other than Indian national), you must carry your visa clearance letter, before boarding flight you need to produce a copy of the visa clearance letter at the time of check-in. It is advisable to apply for a Visa clearance letter, before booking air ticket. You may download a Visa application form from our website, and send us back after filling it up with black pen along with a color scanned copy of the valid passport.

Indian Nationals

If you are Indian nationals, you are not required visa to enter into Bhutan but you need a road permit card and any of these (valid passport/ Election or Voter ID card). In case of children who are below 12 yrs. old can travel with Original birth certificate written in English. If original birth certificate is written in any local language you need to produce a translated copy into English and notarized by a magistrate.

Note: – Passport validity case is not applicable on Indian nationals if you are traveling from any Indian airport, if you are traveling apart from Indian airport your passport validity should not be less than 6 months from your traveling date.

Also if you are arriving into Bhutan from any third country, or you are departing into third country in this case you must have your valid Indian passport, your Voter id / Election card is not accepted as a travel document.

Bangladesh & Maldives Nationals

If you are Bangladesh or Maldives National then you don’t require visa to enter Bhutan. Travel documents required is passport only & no other document will be accepted
